If your not able to physically visit the salon you can still send in measurement of your head and you will be able to receive your wig in the mail, three weeks later.
All steps in the process of making a beauitful wig are important; however, when taking the first step of measuring your head it is highly reccommended that you be absolutly correct because this will ensure your wig will fit properly on your head. Here are the step in taking accurate measurements:

Your hair must be styled the same as it will be under the wig. For the best results braid your hair into an straight back or beehive pattern or pin back, then cover with cap. The ideal is to get the hair to be as flat to the head as possible for the proper fitting of the wig.
After flating down your hair, it's time to take the measurements. You can purchase a soft measuring tape at any local crafting store, for measuring your head. Important: To ensure accurate measurements, take measurement at least 3 times.
Take measurements in wholes and 1/2, than round to the nearest inch or 1/2 inche. For example: 12 3/4 inches would be 13 inches.
Circumference of the head: Now you want to measure around the head. Positionn the measuring tape so it's edge follows the hair line around the head and nape of the neck.
Example: 22 inches.
Front to Nape: With your head tilted downward take measurements from the hair line, at center of forehead, straight back over crown to center of hair line at nape of neck.
Important: With this step you need to add 1/2 inch to the your measurement results, because your cap is glued to the outside perimeter of your natural hair line on your skin. If you don't add the extra 1/2 inch, your wig will be too small.
Ear to Ear Across Forehead: At the front of ear, measure from the hair line at the base of the sideburn, up across the hair line along forehead to same point in front of other ear (Average measurements is 11 1/2 inches)
Ear to Ear Over Top: Measure from hair line directly above the ear across top of head to the hair line directly above the other ear (Average measurements is 11).
Temple to Temple Around Back: From temple to temple across the back of head (Average measurement is 14 inches).
Nape of Neck: Measure the width of hair line across the nape of the neck (Average measurements is 5 inches).
